Description of the Water softening plant

To the equipment:

Optional:

The water softening plant is laid out according to your needs and requirements
Each natural water contains calcium and magnesium. Certain ones chemical compounds of these minerals are
called as water hardness; they form the boiler scale. Boiler scale leads to calcified pipes and heating surfaces,
which entails high losses of energy and pressure as well as expensive operational disturbances.
A frequently used procedure is the softening with an ion exchanger. The water flows through a cation
exchanger column. The Ca2+ and Mg2+-Ionen are usually exchanged by Na+ ions.
The demineralized water contains now more as well as (nearly) all cations existing before the treatment of Na+
and all anions such as Sulfate, Chloride, Nitrate and Hydrogencarbonate-ions. „The regeneration “
of the exhausted Cation exchanger takes place with diluted salt solution (regeneration salt).
